The Miner

This light object is inspired by the photography of Bernd and Hilla Becher

Showcasing on one of their pictures run-down mining equipment with  conveyer belts running through its construction. This beautiful picture intrigued me!

I wanted to create this principle into a abstract light object. The bend acrylic mimics the conveyer belts running through its wooden frame which held up the acrylic.

By using the Television fiberglass technique in combination with the live edge principle. We made direct light into the flat side of the acrylic. By its material property’s the light runs through the acrylic creating a beautiful light effect fading upwards. The white to green glow of the acrylic makes it even more magical.

The light is literally transported though the material, as the material has been transported on the conveyer belts back in the day.
